The bulletin carried a photograph of Kim Jong Il and an article titled "Kim Jong Il and His Songun Leadership".

August 25, 1960, was the day when Kim Jong Il visited the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army, the bulletin said, adding:

His start of Songun leadership provided decisive guarantee for carrying forward the history and tradition of the Songun revolutionary cause in the DPRK from generation to generation.

It is his steadfast strategy for army building to train the KPA to be a strong army perfect not only in political and ideological aspects but also in terms of military technique.

At a time when the anti-socialist offensive of the imperialist forces was focused on the DPRK after the collapse of socialism in different countries, he clarified the principle of Songun that the army precisely means a party, state and people and formulated the Songun politics as a basic political mode under socialism.

In the DPRK the army is not only discharging its mission as defender of the country but also taking the brunt of most important and difficult tasks in socialist economic construction to make breakthrough. The indomitable and noble spirit, displayed by servicepersons in this course, serves as the ideological and moral model to be followed by all the people, it stressed.
