Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Japanese Prime Minister Aso was reported to have uttered at a recent Japan-south Korea summit that "Japanese public would be increasingly vocal for the nuclear weaponization if the nuclear issue of north Korea festers." Commenting on this, news analysts of papers Tuesday observe: Aso talked about the need for Japan to go nuclear at an official summit not out of his concern for the settlement of the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula. Rodong Sinmun says: The Japanese reactionaries' talk about "concern about the national security" under the pretence of the non-existent "threat" from some one is nothing but a ploy to make the nonsensical theory of "chain reaction" to nuclear weaponization sound plausible in a bid to secure a pretext for going nuclear. These days the U.S. is busy spreading the rumor among world public that failure to check the DPRK's nuclear weaponization would spark a "chain reaction" in Japan and south Korea. What matters is that Aso echoed this as if he had been waiting for it to happen. There is no need for Japan to worry about its security as long as it is assured of the U.S. provision of "its nuclear umbrella." If Japan has access to nukes, it will upset the nuclear equilibrium which has been preserved in Northeast Asia with much effort. Should Japan calculate it can legally push forward the nuclear weaponization under the pretext of the hypocritical theory of "chain reaction" to the nuclear weaponization, citing someone's access to nukes, it is a shortsighted way of thinking and a historical blunder. The Japanese reactionaries had better drop their absurd scenario to pave the way for going nuclear under the pretence of the DPRK's access to nukes for self-defence and realize their old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere". Minju Joson says that the Japanese reactionaries openly disclosed their wrong view that it is necessary for Japan to have access to nukes. This suggests that they are keen to use the "nuclear domino theory" which had already proved bankrupt as it lost its practical value and significance long ago. |
