Attending the ceremony were personages of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and a steel plant and popular masses of Cuba.

Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, in his speech at the ceremony noted with high appreciation that under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung the army and people of the DPRK won the shining victory in the three-year Fatherland Liberation War, shattering the myth of the "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists.

The Cuban people have always and fully supported the Korean people's cause of independent and peaceful reunification and will continue to encourage the cause of Korea's reunification to which Kim Il Sung devoted everything until the last moments of his life, he said.

The President's cause of national reunification is being successfully carried forward by Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Korean people, he stressed.
