Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- The "preparatory committee for August 15 rally" made up of at least 100 civic and public organizations including the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Federation of Peasants Associations and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on August 10 to demand the puppet authorities immediately opt to settle the inter-Korean relations. A press release read out at the press conference accused the Lee Myung Bak "government" of putting up watchwords "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars" and persistently pursuing the policy of totally negating the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, thus bringing the inter-Korean relations to the phase of collapse. It urged the Lee regime to make clear its will to respect the inter-Korean joint declaration and implement it with Aug. 15 as a momentum. It also demanded the Lee regime immediately give up its full participation in the PSI, a threat to the north, cancel the projected Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises, aimed at invading the north, and pull out of the south Korea-U.S. "military alliance". The Lee regime should halt the fascist suppression being perpetrated on charges of violation of "the National Security Law", release the unreasonably detained democratic and pro-reunification figures and ensure cooperation and exchange between the south and the north, it demanded, adding: We will use the "August 15 rally" for judging the Lee Myung Bak group for deteriorating the people's living, violating democracy and fostering the inter-Korean confrontation. |
