He, shouldering the destiny of the country and nation, embarked upon the road of revolution in his early years and put forth the line of anti-Japanese armed struggle at the historical Kalun Meeting, clarifying overall strategic and tactical problems for the Korean revolution.

In July of Juche 19 (1930) the Korean Revolutionary Army was formed in the course of implementing the Juche-oriented line and policies set forth at the Kalun Meeting.

The President dispatched small groups of the KRA to northern area of Korea, the central Manchuria and other areas to carry out at an early date the tasks at the preparatory stage for the anti-Japanese armed struggle, such as expanding of the ranks, accumulating of experience in military activities and securing of activity bases and weapons.

He came to Jongsong County (at that time) where he convened and presided over a meeting of political workers and chiefs of underground revolutionary organizations in May 1931. At the meeting he delivered the speech "Let Us Prepare Fully the Revolutionary Force for Organizing and Waging Armed Struggle."

He, in his speech, set forth tasks to fully prepare revolutionary force for the armed struggle and detailed the way for building up solid armed forces, uniting popular masses of broad sections into a political force and securing bases of the armed units.

The backbone for founding the anti-Japanese armed ranks was trained, the mass foundation was laid and full military preparation was made within two years after the formation of the KRA.

President Kim Il Sung, basing himself on this, founded the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army in April 1932, defeated the Japanese imperialists and liberated the country.

The great feat performed by President Kim Il Sung to accomplish the historic cause of national liberation will last forever.
