Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- Nonsensical remarks related to the issue of the inter-Korean dialogue are now heard in south Korea after the Pyongyang visit was paid by former U.S. President Clinton. The south Korean ruling quarters are letting loose a spate of sheer sophism, pretending to be interested in the inter-Korean dialogue. They assert that "dialogue depends on the north's attitude and stand" and "landmark measures could be taken if the north took a carrot approach." Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a signed commentary in this regard: The "dialogue" and the like touted by them is nothing but a crafty and hypocritical rigmarole intended to evade their responsibility for having torpedoed the inter-Korean dialogue and placate the south Korean public demanding a switchover in their treacherous and anti-reunification "policy towards the north." Their loudmouthed "landmark measures" are illogical and an intolerable mockery and insult to the DPRK. Clear is the aim sought by them in oft-repeating the issue of the inter-Korean dialogue, trumpeting about "dialogue with the north." Through this they seek to evade the responsibility for having pushed the inter-Korean relations to such phase of distrust and confrontation where there is neither dialogue nor cooperation and the situation on the eve of war and divert elsewhere the attention of the south Korean public desirous of the north-south dialogue. The south Korean authorities had better honestly repent of their treacherous acts of bedeviling the inter-Korean relations and blocking dialogue quite contrary to the trend of the times and wishes of the fellow countrymen before talking about "dialogue" and roll back at once their anti-reunification and confrontational policy repudiated and denounced by all Koreans. Any honeyed words disregarding the above-said demands sound as no more than sheer sophism intended to mislead the public at home and abroad. |
