Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- The Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises which the U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors kicked off today and will stage till August. 27 in south Korea amount to a dangerous test war and preliminary war as they are aimed to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK to all intents and purposes. Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a signed commentary in this regard: The U.S. is describing this saber rattling as "exercises for strengthening the defensive posture" in a bid to cover up their offensive nature and danger and its scenario to ignite the second Korean war, but this rhetoric can never help cover up the aggressive and provocative nature and gravity of the joint military maneuvers. The new scenario for joint operation that replaced the "OPLAN 5027" specifically reflects the contents of various operations and ways to start a war and methods of striking by means for carrying out operations, etc. It is as clear as noonday that the joint military exercises will prove to be a specific course of the U.S. fulfillment of its commitment to provide "a nuclear umbrella" to the south Korean puppets. What is more intolerable is that the U.S. kicked off the exercises under the signboard of "ensuring peace" and "dialogue". It is undisguised acts to deny the dialogue and disturb peace that the U.S. warmongers kicked off the war exercises aimed at a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK. The "strengthened defense posture" touted by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppets means a reversed form of a scenario for stepping up the preparations for invading the north. It is the design of the U.S. imperialists to escalate the tension on the peninsula and seize the DPRK through a surprise preemptive nuclear attack. No one can say that these war maneuvers will not develop into a nuclear war any moment. The U.S. would be well advised to stop at once its saber rattling. |
