Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea on August 15 issued a statement titled "Lee Myung Bak, the arch criminal who bedeviled the inter-Korean relations, step down." The statement said: The south and the north are now in a state of distrust and confrontation contrary to the desire of the Korean nation and the Lee Myung Bak regime is entirely to blame for this. No sooner had Lee come to power than he reduced the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to dead papers. He is keen on escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula, crying out for "a preemptive attack" and the like whenever an opportunity presents itself. In order to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula, develop the inter-Korean relations and achieve the prosperity of the Korean nation, it is necessary to force the Lee Myung Bak regime to step down as early as possible and pressurize the United States to roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK, a policy bringing a war to this land. The statement called upon all the Koreans to turn out in the struggle against the south Korea-U.S. joint military exercises as an immediate task. |
