Korean Nation's Influence on Cultural Development in Japan
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation gave a great influence on the development of culture in Japan in early years.

Technicians of Koguryo and Paekje disseminated their developed weaving technology and clothes-making method among Japanese people from the end of the 3rd century to the early of the 4th century. In particular, it is told that the Paekje man who was invited to Japan in 283 was the founder of the weaving and clothes-making in Japan.

A cloth of Koguryo silk remains still in the Shouso Hall of the Todai Temple in Nara Prefecture. It was patterned when weaving, which was an application of a highly developed technology at that time.

After reading a poem composed by a Palhae envoy in 815, a renowned Japanese poet said that he could hardly take his hand off the poem and was happy to recite it. Miyakono Yoshika, who boasted of being a good writer in Japan, lavished his praises on Yang Song Gyu, a Palhae envoy, after reading his writings in 872.

Various collections of prose and poetry and individual libraries which remain still in Japan reflect the conceits of Palhae envoys and laudation over them.

During the Imjin Patriotic War against Japan, the invaders kidnapped many Korean ceramists to Japan. Then many feudal lords set up stoves in their areas and forced the ceramists to make various kinds of porcelains. Hundreds of stove sites came into being at that time and later they became hubs of porcelain production in Japan.

In the period of Ri Dynasty Korean messenger parties dispatched to Japan included many talented persons who were versed into calligraphy, painting and other cultural and artistic fields.

Many framed calligraphic works written by excellent literary men of the messenger parties are preserved in various temples in Japan as valuable legacies.

A lot of Korean cultural heritages preserved in museums and temples in Tokyo and other parts of Japan prove the excellent culture of the Korean nation.
