The participants heard the recorded speech "On Improving Quality Control" made by President
Kim Il Sung at a national conference of quality control workers on February 2, Juche 70 (1981).

Vice-Premier of the Cabinet O Su Yong in a report referred to the fact that the President clarified the essence of the quality control and its popular nature, gave clear answers to the theoretical and practical issues arising in implementing it and wisely led the drive to carry it out.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il published "Let Us Firmly Arm Ourselves with the Juche-Oriented Theory of Socialist Economic Management" and other works, thereby upholding and defending the President's Juche-based idea and theory of quality control and bringing about a radical change in decisively improving the quality of goods, he said, and went on:

The socialist quality control system has fulfilled its mission and duty for the past six decades under the seasoned and tested leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He underscored the need for all fields and units to consider it as an important task to improve quality as required by the developing reality in which a dynamic drive for building an economic power is now underway and energetically push ahead with the above-said work.
