Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il, provided field guidance to the Kujang Fish Farm rebuilt on an expansion basis. After being briefed on the farm before a map showing its panoramic view, he went round the fish farm whose appearance has undergone a radical change to learn in detail about the reconstruction of the fish farm and fish breeding there. Kujang County has modernized and scientized fish breeding processes on the basis of the latest science and technology by its own efforts, thus opening up a good prospect for rapidly increasing the production of freshwater fish, he said, adding this is a laudable success. He was pleased to see one more modern fish breeding centre. He underscored the need to put fish breeding on a scientific and intensive basis, setting forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for further developing the nation's fish farming. He said that large quantities of freshwater fish are now being produced at the fish farms built by the army and society in recent years, making a great contribution to improving the diet of servicepersons and people. This signal change that has taken place in the era of Songun clearly proves the validity and vitality of the Party's policy on developing fish farming on a large scale, he added. Noting that the country has very favorable conditions for breeding fish in a big way as it abounds in rivers, lakes, springs and hot springs, he called for energetically doing fish farming in a mass movement to bring about a new turn in this work. He underlined the need to find out all right places for fish farming while making a good use of springs and hot springs and thus build more fish farms to make sure that every place where water is available teems with fish. Noting that it is of particular importance to settle the problem of feed now that a lot of fish farms have been built in different parts of the country, he indicated tasks and ways for doing so. He earnestly called on all fields and units to conduct fish breeding in a revolutionary manner to rapidly boost the fish production so that they can translate the lifetime ardent wish of President Kim Il Sung to provide the people with a sufficient amount of fish into a reality as early as possible. He was accompanied by Kim Phyong Hae, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, and other leading officials of the C.C., the WPK. |
