Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The Central Metrology Research Institute of the DPRK has succeeded in developing an electric insulator of a new series with highly insulating efficiency and put its production method on a scientific basis.
The new electric insulator is incomparably superior to other ones in electric strength, heat resistance and wet-proofing.
It has been applied to various kinds of high-voltage motors including high-voltage motor of power station and traction motor of electric locomotive, high-tension transformers and electric generators with the result that the serviceable life of the machines has been extended five times compared with the old ones.
The production cost of the new electric insulator, made of raw materials rich in the country, is one third of that of other same class insulators. It thus gives great economic profits.
