Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation has been widely known in the world as one with strong and brave disposition from olden times. It is well proved by many Korean and foreign historical records which have been handed down up to now. A historical book of a neighboring country writes that the Puyo people are burly and tall and they with a strong character are brave, prudent and generous and do not invade and plunder others. It also notes that the Okjo people of Ancient Korea are possessed of brave and upright characters and are skillful in using spears in infantry actions. It appreciates the Jinguk people as those of strong and brave disposition. Having such courageous and stout disposition, the Koguryo people frustrated the invasion of foreign enemies with hundreds of thousands, millions of troops to defend the country firmly. Their valor and spirit were inherited by those of Palhae, its successor. The Palhae people used to amuse themselves with horse riding and archery. The Koryo people also displayed bravery in battles with the foreign invaders as their ancestors did. There are many anecdotes showing objectively the nation's valor in the days of Ri Dynasty. The Korean nation could win brilliant victories in the struggle for defending the country for many years as the people, with ardent patriotism and strong anti-aggression spirit, displayed matchless gallantry and strong stamina. |
