Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- John Paul Cupp, chairman of the U.S. Solidarity Committee to Support the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and the South Korean People's Struggle and chief of the U.S. Group for the Study of Songun Politics, released a statement on Aug. 12 in protest against the large-scale joint military exercises for aggression by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet clique.
The statement branded the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises staged by the U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak group as aggression moves for threatening the independent political system of the DPRK.
The U.S. imperialists, main obstacle to Korea's reunification, should no longer interfere in the Korean affairs, it urged.
The DPRK has firmly defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country in any circumstances under the Songun revolutionary leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the statement noted, adding that all the Korean people in the north and the south and the world progressives are supporting the Songun idea founded by President Kim Il Sung as the most correct guiding idea for the anti-imperialist class struggle in the present era.
