UFG Termed Test Nuclear War against DPRK

Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises being staged by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers are a test nuclear war against the DPRK to all intents and purposes and reckless saber rattling of the U.S. bellicose forces to invent a pretext for igniting a new war by driving the military confrontation and tension in the Korean Peninsula to an extreme phase.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed commentary.

It goes on:

The U.S. imperialists are staging the UFG under a more dangerous new plan for joint operations against the DPRK which replaced "OPLAN 5027". This goes to clearly prove that their plan for the second Korean war is being put in a concrete shape, examined and rounded off in practice.

The U.S. bellicose forces are staging the UFG in collusion with the war servants of south Korea defying the repeated warnings of the DPRK and strong public protest and denunciation at home and abroad. This indicates that the U.S. policy for stifling the DPRK by force of arms remains unchanged even under the present U.S. administration.

The U.S. is frantically staging the above-said reckless preliminary nuclear war, pursuant to the new plan for joint operations for invading the DPRK, while stepping up the "operation for strangling" the DPRK through international "sanctions". This cannot be construed otherwise than a dangerous development.

Through the UFG the U.S. once again stripped bare its true colors as a nuclear war maniac, the country negating dialogue and disturber of peace.

It is still misjudging the will and strength of the DPRK.

It is the toughest mode of counteraction of the DPRK to react to the enemy's stick with a sword and its artillery piece with a missile.

The U.S. imperialists would be well advised to stop acting rashly, clearly understanding the will of the DPRK to make strong retaliation and its powerful strength.
