Participating in the contest, held in the riverside adjacent to Kim Il Sung Square, were over 1,500 boy and girl players selected from schools in districts and counties of the city.

When the start of the contest was declared, all the players began swimming vigorously toward the opposite riverside, displaying a high degree of collectivism and untiring perseverance.

The winners of the contest were players from Rangnang District and Sangwon County.
