Japan Urged to Redeem Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- On July 30 U.S. Congress raised stronger demand calling for internationalizing the issue of the crimes related to "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese army. This indicates that the harder Japan works to evade its responsibility for its past crimes, the more strict and vehement the international community becomes in its attitude critical of them.

Minju Joson Wednesday observes this in a signed commentary.

It goes on:

The crimes related to "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese army are crimes against humanity as they were a product of the Japanese imperialists' most hideous policy of insulting women. They forcibly drafted hundreds of thousands of women of Korea and other countries of Asia and forced them to provide sex to troops of the Imperial Japanese army by use of government and military power.

The Japanese government has, therefore, a legal and moral obligation to honestly admit and officially apologize for those crimes and make state reparation for them.

Japan, however, adamantly refuses to admit its crimes, while making desperate efforts to cover up or deny the crimes, in particular.

This goes to prove that Japan is, indeed, a degenerate state bereft of even the elementary moral face to exist on earth as a member of the international community.

It is quite self-evident that the sound development of the international community can hardly be expected as long as such a country politically corrupt and morally depraved is allowed to continue behaving so.

Japan should be brought to the U.N. human rights court to face stern judgment of justice and human conscience.

It would be well advised to respond to the demand of the international community as early as possible, well aware that its persistent evasion of its obligation to redeem its past wrongs would only drive it into a tighter corner.
