Performance of Extravaganza "Arirang" Continues
Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", a "Kim Il Sung Prize" laureate, is staged at the May Day Stadium located on Rungna Islet of Pyongyang amid great interest of peoples at home and abroad.

The extravaganza is a monumental masterpiece of the new century which was created with the folk song "Arirang" as its seed by combining the question on the nation's lot with the history of the Korean revolution.

It, which consists of a prelude, four acts and a finale, shows the ideological and thematic content in an ample and graphic representation.

The prelude in which the title "Arirang" appears with the rising sun as the background, and Act 1 impressively represent with famous songs the immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung who liberated the ruined country.

Act 2 "Arirang of Songun" depicts the reality of the country rapidly developing thanks to Songun and the happy life of its working people with peculiar dance movements, cheerful songs and gymnastic formations full of vigor.

Conspicuous in the current performance is Act 3 "Arirang of Happiness".

Graceful movements of dancers with flowers and ribbons in their hands and stunts of acrobats lead the audience to a mysterious and fascinating world.

Act 4 "Arirang of Reunification" and the finale "Arirang of Prosperity" represent well the strong will of the Korean people to reunify the divided country and build a great, prosperous and powerful nation.

All the scenes, songs and the pictures and words on the background reflect the reality of Juche Korea as it is.
