Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.

It goes on:

Without a struggle for creating a peaceful environment a people can neither achieve the goals of socio-economic development in the new century nor protect the sovereignty of their country.

The above-said struggle is not a task facing specified countries but a task common to all the countries desirous of development in the new century, setting store by their sovereignty.

What is important in the above-said struggle at present is to properly know about the essence of the changed aggressive methods of the imperialists and take a principled approach towards them.

Peace should serve the purpose of promoting harmony and friendship among countries and nations and boosting cooperation among them in the true sense of the word.

Peace never comes of its own accord but it can be achieved only through the struggle against the phenomena opposed to it.

The struggle for creating a peaceful environment is, in essence, an anti-imperialist, anti-war struggle.

Individual countries are not strong enough to wage a successful struggle against the allied imperialist forces. When the peace-loving countries solidarize with each other and pool efforts, they can grow a hundred times stronger.

More favorable environment and conditions will be created for the socio-economic development in the new century when the peoples of the progressive countries advance, holding aloft the banner of the above-said struggle.
