Implementation of Inter-Korean Declarations Called for

Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- In order to achieve the reunification and prosperity of the Korean nation it is important to steadily adhere to the principle of solving any problem arising in the realization of national reunification independently by the concerted efforts of the Koreans responsible for it. And all Koreans in the north and the south should get firmly united and intensify the struggle to implement the inter-Korean declarations.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday stresses this in a signed article.

National independence is the core and basic principle for solving the reunification question, the national problem, the article says, and goes on:

"By our nation itself" is the idea of national independence, the patriotic idea common to the nation that should be entirely relied on for national reconciliation and unity and development of the inter-Korean relations.

Anyone who truly wants national reconciliation, unity and reunification should maintain the principle of national independence.

The signal achievements made in the inter-Korean relations in the June 15 era of reunification prove that the inter-Korean declarations are the most just and vital, immortal great programmes for national reunification and that the Koreans can surely achieve the independent reunification, peace and prosperity when they pool their efforts on the basis of the joint declarations.

There can be no discrimination between government and non-government nor limitation by affiliations and status in implementing the inter-Korean declarations.

All Koreans at home and abroad should become defender and implementer of the joint declarations with responsibility for their implementation, transcending differences in ideology and system.
