Fakar Uddin Chaudhry, chairman of the Pakistan Society for the Study of Independence, in his speech made at the meeting said that Kim Jong Il held higher the banner of the Songun idea founded by President Kim Il Sung at the end of the last century when the imperialist forces got more desperate in their moves to stifle the DPRK. He stressed that today the DPRK is demonstrating its might as a socialist power with strong political and military potentials and as an invulnerable fortress in the struggle for independence against imperialism which nobody can attack. S. M. Masud, lawyer of the Supreme Court of Pakistan who is former minister of Justice, in his speech made at the meeting said that today the President's Songun idea not only has been confidently carried forward by Kim Jong Il but has been steadily developed in depth by him. He added that Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, said at the book exhibition that the Korean people would successfully build a thriving socialist nation while overcoming all sorts of difficulties under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, reiterating the full support and solidarity of the association with the Korean people in their efforts to protect peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
