The first leg of his guidance was the Songjin Steel Complex.

He looked round the revolutionary museum and the room dedicated to the history of the complex where he saw the relics that bear witness to immortal revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung. There he said that the complex has turned into a powerful and Juche-based giant metallurgical centre under the wise leadership and meticulous care of the President.

He noted that the workers in Songgang are, indeed, the heroic workers who have taken the lead in upholding the Party and the leader by increasing the steel production in every period and at each stage of the revolution, calling on them to continue upholding and preserving this brilliant tradition of struggle in the future, too.

He made the rounds of production processes including the combined control room and the converter shop for several hours to learn in detail about technical updating and production there.

It is a signal success of weighty importance to be specially recorded in the history of the development of the metallurgical industry that the complex has rounded off the most advanced steelmaking method based on the Juche iron with their own efforts and technology, he noted, highly appreciating the shining feats the officials, technicians and workers have performed by succeeding in their research into the new steelmaking method and extending thanks to them.

He said the most important task facing the complex is to fully introduce the above-said steelmaking method into production to successfully realize the Juche orientation of the metallurgical industry.

The next leg of his guidance was the Kim Chaek Taehung Fishery Enterprise.

He made the rounds of various places including the general processing shop to acquaint himself in detail with the technical updating and fish processing.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the enterprise successfully realized the modernization of the processing in a matter of one year and overfulfilled its fishing plan. He highly appreciated the successes made in their endeavors and set forth tasks to be fulfilled by the enterprise.

He was accompanied by Hong Sok Hyong, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and other leading officials of the C.C., the WPK.
