Present there were Jo Yun Hae, chairman of the Commonwealth of Independent States Regional Headquarters for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration, and other officials and Koreans in Uzbekistan.

The DPRK ambassador to Uzbekistan and staff members of his embassy were present on invitation.

A speaker at the meeting lauded President Kim Il Sung who led the sanguinary armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists to brilliant victory, achieving the liberation of Korea and founding the DPRK.

Kim Il Sung is the eternal President of the DPRK, the speaker added, and went on:

General Secretary Kim Jong Il has wisely led the building of a thriving socialist nation, foiling the policy of the imperialists to suffocate the DPRK and their moves for a war with the invincible Songun politics.

The speaker called on the compatriots to work harder to achieve the prosperity of the DPRK and national reunification, true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Then followed a performance given by Korean artistes.
