DPRK's Birthday Observed in Various Countries

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in South Africa and opening ceremonies of Korean book, photo and art exhibition in Italy and Indonesia between August 27 and 29 on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the founding of the DPRK. Displayed in the venues of exhibitions were works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and photos on exploits of the peerlessly great persons performed in founding, strengthening and developing the DPRK and books, pictures and art works on the wisdom and talents of the Korean people and their successes in their efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful nation. Speeches were made there. David Mahobo, chairman of the Mahlambandlophy, Pretoria City, Branch of the African National Congress of South Africa, said that the founding of the DPRK marked an event of national historic significance as it brought freedom and cradle of happiness to the Korean people. The Korean people could reach the highest level of glory and dynamically advance towards a hope-filled future thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, he added. Bonakele Majuba, secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party who is chairman of the South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People, said that Kim Jong Il has successfully realized the desire of the President to build a thriving nation with his unique Songun politics. The chairman of the Italy-Korea Cultural Association noted that under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people have registered big successes in their struggle to build socialism and reunify the country while smashing the moves of the hostile forces including the U.S. to stifle the DPRK. Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings. |
