The revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu, the fighting spirit displayed by the revolutionary forerunners while making long journeys of bloody anti-Japanese battles and pushing their ways through endless snowstorms under the commandership of President Kim Il Sung, is the spirit of making charges overcoming any difficulties, an indomitable fighting spirit and a spirit of independence to build a socialist land of bliss by one's own efforts.

The might of the above-said spirit has been fully displayed in every year of the Korean revolution which has stood stern tests.

The spirit has served as an engine that helped bring about ceaseless upswing in the building of socialism in the DPRK and represented the revolutionary mettle of the Korean people who know nothing impossible.

The victory in the 70-day campaign which culminated in creating a new speed of advance in the 1970s and the victory in the 200-day campaign which resulted in providing all the domains of the national economy with a bright prospect of successfully carrying out the 3rd Seven-Year Plan, dealing telling blows at the anti-socialist moves of the enemies in the 1980s, were unthinkable without the wise leadership given by the Workers' Party of Korea to the Korean people to live and struggle in the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu.

The extraordinary mental power fully displayed by the Korean people in the struggle for winning a victory in the drive for effecting a new great revolutionary surge is based on the above-mentioned spirit.

Ardent patriots in the era of Songun are being produced and epoch-making miracles and changes are reported from every place pervaded with the above-said spirit.
