Great Life for People
Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- The Korean people are yearning more earnestly for President Kim Il Sung who devoted his whole life to the struggle for liberating the country from the yoke of the Japanese imperialist rule and for providing happiness to the people with the 61st anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea drawing near.

The President devoted himself for the people throughout his life with "The people are my God" as his constant view and motto.

He started his revolutionary activities in his teens and waged a bloody anti-Japanese war for building a country where the working people are the masters and at last accomplished the historic cause of national liberation.

After the liberation of the country, he called at the Kangson Steel Works (present Chollima Steel Complex) before visiting his native home in Mangyongdae which he had not forgotten even a moment for 20 years and discussed state affairs with its workers.

He promulgated the Agrarian Reform Law to satisfy the desire of the peasants to do farm in their own land to their heart's content. He visited a farmhouse in a remote mountainous area where he took a measure to provide an affluent life to the people in the area, talking with a peasant over night.

At a steel works, he instructed officials to blow up the outmoded electric furnace dangerous for workers and placed the issue of pencil as an agenda-item of the first meeting of the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea though there were many pressing problems to be solved for the building of a new society.

After descending the platform of the rally held in celebration of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, he directly headed for a brickyard to solve the brick issue for the construction of people's dwelling houses.

He had given field guidance to all parts of the country for the happy life of the people from the day when the country was liberated to the last moments of his great life.

During the on-the-spot guidance, he met with lots of people of all strata and listened to them to work out popular policies comprehensively representing their will.

Seeing a rural woman carrying a water jar on her head on his way of field guidance, he saw to it that the Party Congress adopted the issue of providing water services to the countryside as a decision. Although the country had not enough finance, he made sure that a large sum of state funds was earmarked for education and that the people could enjoy free medical service.

The Korean people are still holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the permanent President of the DPRK.
