Seeing the national flag, the servicepersons and people of Korea are retrospecting with deep emotion the immortal feats of President Kim Il Sung for nation-building.

The President in his teens made a historic resolve not to return home before Korea had become independent and embarked on the road of revolution. He waged sanguinary anti-Japanese war for 20 years and thus liberated the country by force of arms.

As soon as he returned in triumph, he put his heart and soul into the work for building a new Korea without taking a rest even a day after the anti-Japanese war, thus successfully accomplishing the historic cause of founding the Party and army.

He, at the same time, energetically pushed ahead with the work for founding the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Under his outstanding leadership, the constitution, name, national emblem and national flag of the DPRK were instituted.

With the foundation of the DPRK by the President in September Juche 37 (1948), the Korean people became the master of the state and society for the first time in the 5,000-year-long history, the independent and creative people who pave a new era of history, taking their destiny in their hands and the dignified people that no one dare pounce upon them.

The DPRK came to proceed into the international arena on an equal par with countries, big or small, holding aloft the banner of Juche as a full-fledged independent and sovereign state.

The exploits performed by the President for founding the DPRK are shining under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, peerless brilliant commander of Songun.

Under the wise leadership of him who is devoting himself for the construction of a rich and powerful country and the happiness of the people, the DPRK is displaying its might as a powerful socialist state of Juche and the September 9 will be the holiday of Songun Korea for ever.
