Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- On a spring day of Juche 35 (1946), Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, was told by the director of the then Yangdok Railway Hospital of South Phyongan Province that a young worker got hurt seriously in his leg and was in a critical condition. The director told her that the leg of the patient should be cut off. Listening to him, she asked him whether there was no other treatment method than cutting off and what medicines were needed. The director, who was reproaching himself, said that the hospital ran out of antibiotic medicines. Then she felt easy and warmly told about securing needed medicines and curing the leg of the young man without fail. Amid her meticulous care, the wife of the director went to Pyongyang to bring needed medicines and the hospital treated the young man day and night. The young man had his leg completely cured in six months to walk freely. The doctors and railway workers said with deep emotion that thanks to the woman commander of Mt. Paektu the young worker came to have the bright future of youth again. |
