Saying that the foundation of the DPRK opened up a new chapter in the history of Korea, the message continued:

Over the past 61 years the Korean people have achieved incessant successes to be proud of in the socialist revolution and construction in single mind in the spirit of fortitude under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the Workers' Party of Korea.

We are sincerely rejoiced over this and wholeheartedly wish the Korean people greater successes in all fields in the future.

The party, government and people of China constantly set store by the traditional Sino-Korean friendship.

It is our hope that we would continue to boost bilateral exchange and cooperation with the DPRK side in all spheres and put spurs to furthering the Sino-Korean friendship of good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation in the spirit of "Inheriting tradition, facing up to the future, building good neighborly friendship and strengthening cooperation" on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and thus promote well-being of the two peoples and ensure peace and stability in the region.

We wish the DPRK prosperity and its people happiness.
