Saber Ballul, department head of the Political Faculty of University of Damascus in Syria, in a statement on Sept. 8 said that the DPRK was founded on the basis of the Juche idea fathered by President Kim Il Sung, adding that thanks to the Juche idea, the popular masses' cause of independence has made a victorious advance and socialism in the DPRK won one victory after another though socialist countries collapsed in Eastern Europe at the end of the 20th century.

The founding of the Songun idea was the key to the birth of the DPRK and the firm defence of the gains of the Korean revolution, he noted, adding that thanks to the Songun idea, the Korean people could liberate the country, win a victory in the war fought against the U.S. and further boost the capability for self-defence.

He stressed that General Secretary Kim Jong Il has developed in depth the Songun idea fathered by the President.

A director of a company in Myanmar in a statement issued on Sept. 7 praised the DPRK founded by the President as a dignified and Juche-oriented socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence. He expressed belief that the DPRK would surely open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012.
