Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were awarded to the intellectuals in recognition of their great contributions to scientific researches and the education of the younger generation.
The title of an academician went to Rim Chun Hak, director of the Ophthalmic Hospital of the Korea General Red-Cross Hospital, and the title of a candidate academician to Ri Sung Bin, teacher at
Kim Il Sung University, and Ri Kun Son, researcher at the State Academy of Sciences.
The title of professor was conferred upon Kim Myong Chol, teacher at Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, and Choe Kwang Ryol, head of a department of Korea University of Physical Education, while the doctorate went to Ra Mun Yok, room chief of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Ki Jun, head of a department of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and others. The title of an associate professor was awarded to 35 persons.
A ceremony of awarding the academic degrees and titles was held on Wednesday.
