The statement said:

In order to wage a dynamic movement for national reunification all Koreans should remain true to the idea of "By our nation itself", the main spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, and fully embody it.

Clarified in the declarations are all theoretical and practical problems arising in achieving the reunification of the country and ways for realizing the reunification in the most reasonable way at the earliest possible date.

The declarations also comprehensively deal with all matters of cooperation between the north and the south for promoting common interests and co-prosperity and development, the statement noted, and continued:

The proposal for founding the DFRK is the most just way for the Korean people to achieve national reunification by themselves free from foreign interference.

Upholding and implementing the declarations is the only way of improving the inter-Korean relations and steadily and dynamically advancing the cause of national reunification, concluded the statement.
