The Acupuncture and Moxibustion Research Institute under the Academy of Koryo Medicine is raising the level of scientific treatment with the introduction of advanced acupuncture and moxibustion treatment and acupoint diagnosing facilities into clinical practice.

The researchers newly completed the "spots on the body suitable for acupuncture and nerve net" to open up a bright prospect for doing the treatment with acupuncture and moxibustion in a modern medical way.

They also developed a latest cerebral apoplexy prevention program with which it is possible to diagnose the parts of cerebral hematocele troubles and to conduct mental function, drug reaction and other tests in a scientific way.

In particular the electric acupuncture developed by them was appreciated as an efficacious one for the treatment of polyneuropathy.

They have deepened the study of the efficacy of acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping and the theory on kyongrak with the result that they are curing patients without using medicine.

Besides, they treat rheumatic arthritis, chronic prostatism and various diseases caused by slipped disk with acupuncture and moxibustion and apply them to the treatment by combining Koryo medicine with acupuncture.
