Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- Xu Caihou, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission who is member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met and had a friendly talk with the military delegation of the Korean People's Army headed by Pak Jae Gyong, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, on a visit to China at the August 1 Building in Beijing on Wednesday.
Xu Caihou said that the traditional Sino-DPRK friendship is common wealth provided by Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai of China and President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, adding that the party, government and army of China have consistently set store by the Sino-DPRK friendship on a strategic level and made efforts to develop it.
Noting that the armies of the two countries have conducted wide-ranging exchange and cooperation in various fields, thus making a great contribution to the development of the relations between the two countries, he underscored the need to expand and develop in depth the exchange between the armies of China and the DPRK at present.
He expressed belief that the Korean people would achieve fresh successes in developing the economy, improving the standard of people's living and ensuring the security of the country under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
