The first leg of his guidance was the newly-built Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory.

After being briefed on the factory in front of a huge map showing its panoramic view, he went round its interior and exterior to acquaint himself in detail with its construction and production there.

One can clearly notice noble patriotism of soldier-builders and their spirit of devoted service for the people wherever one goes at the factory, he said, highly appreciating the feats they performed by building the modern factory which would win the admiration of even posterity.

Noting that the factory has an important role to play in improving the diet of the people, he set forth important tasks to be fulfilled by the factory.

It is the unshakable determination and goal of the Party to provide the best living conditions to the people who will live in the great prosperous and powerful nation, he said, underscoring the need for the factory to increase the production of quality foodstuffs helpful to improving the diet of the people.

Saying that the Korean people's long-cherished great ideals and desires are now being translated into reality one after another thanks to the dynamic advance for effecting a great surge, he earnestly called for making uninterrupted advance and steady innovation, confident of victory, and thus bringing earlier a rosy future of a thriving nation.

The next leg of his guidance was the Pyongyang Textile Machine Plant.

He went round the room for the education in the revolutionary history and the room devoted to the history of the plant.

Recollecting with deep emotion the unforgettable days when he worked together with workers there nearly 50 years ago, he showed boundless loving care and benevolence for them, inquiring after the health of everyone of those with whom he got acquainted at the work site.

Then, he went round various production processes in full capacity operation and compound clad in foliage of trees of various species to learn in detail about progress made in the modernization of the plant and production there.

After acquainting himself in detail with the performance, mechanism and principles of operation of newly-invented and manufactured looms, he expressed his great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the plant have made excellent looms as required by the IT era with all their wisdom and zeal and sent them to textile mills. And he highly appreciated their feats.

He met with the persons of merit who have made great contributions to the strengthening and development of the plant while working there for years and gave a pep talk to them before posing for a picture with them.

Saying that the plant has an important role to play in developing the nation's textile industry, he advanced highly important tasks to be carried out by it.

He was accompanied by Secretary Kim Ki Nam and Department Directors Kim Kyong Hui and Pak Nam Gi of the WPK Central Committee.
