Implementation of Joint Declarations Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- Members of political parties and civic and public organizations including the Democratic Labor Party and the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea held a rally in Seoul on Sept. 26 on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration at which they called upon the people to take part in the struggle for achieving independent reunification and peace and prosperity.

Speakers at the rally said that they could not repress the resentment at the present reality in which the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, reunification programmes common to the nation, are being defamed, holding that the south-north declarations should be implemented without fail for peace, reunification and prosperity.

They demanded the authorities roll back their hostile policy towards the north and adopt a resolution calling for the implementation of the said declarations at the "National Assembly".

In another development, a campaign for putting signatures on the Korean Peninsula flag and a photo exhibition, etc. took place near the venue of the rally with members of civic and public and peasants organizations and citizens participating in them.
