Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers Sunday warmly welcome the visit to the DPRK by Wen Jiabao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

His visit to the DPRK is of weighty significance in view of historical period and political importance, Rodong Sinmun in an editorial notes, and says:

His visit goes to clearly prove that the Chinese party and government attach great importance to the Sino-DPRK friendship.

This visit by a goodwill mission of the Chinese people strikingly demonstrates the steadily-developing DPRK-China friendship and gives great encouragement to the Korean people working hard to build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

Today the DPRK-China friendship is developing with each passing day under the deep care of the leaders of the two countries.

The Chinese party and government set store by the Sino-DPRK friendship and pay deep attention to consolidating and developing it.

The Korean people are rejoiced as over their own over the fact that everything is going well in China, and extend firm solidarity to the Chinese people in the efforts to build a harmonious society with Chinese characteristics and reunify the country.

It is the consistent stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to set store by the traditional DPRK-China friendship and develop it generation after generation. We are convinced that the bilateral friendship will grow stronger by the joint efforts of both sides.
