Since its formation on September 27, Juche 58 (1969), the art troupe has created and represented paeans to the Party and the leader and many famous songs. It has successfully conducted a thousand and hundreds of performances for functions and thousands of performances at home.

It has given over 770 performances of the revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl", women's concert group and dance group in more than 50 countries.

The troupe also wonderfully represented in colorful forms the famous songs "Korea, I Will Glorify Thee", "Song of Best Wishes", "Greeting the Sun Rising over the Taedong River", "Nostalgia", "Embrace of Country" and other songs as masterpieces of the times.

Its performances of the music and dance drama "Song of a Paradise" and dances "Azalea of the Motherland", "The Snow Is Falling", "Bumper Harvest of Apples", "Winnow Dance" and others enriched the treasure-house of the Juche-oriented art.

In recent years, too, the troupe has created masterpieces of the times including "Let Us Hold High the Red Flag", "My Love, My Motherland" and "Best Is the Songun Leadership".

Its Samjiyon Band and the women's octet which made their appearance some time ago are arousing the admiration of the audience.

The art troupe was awarded the "Order of Kim Il Sung" and has produced a hundred and scores of "Kim Il Sung Prize" winners, people's artists, people's artistes, merited artists and merited artistes.
