Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday runs a signed article denouncing the brigandish Japanese imperialists for having mounted an armed attack on the Royal Palace of the feudal state of Ri Dynasty and mercilessly killed Empress Min, the wife of Kojong, the 26th king of it, on October 8, 1895. The article says: This incident is called "Ulmi Incident" as it took place in the year of Ulmi (1895), the year of the Ram. This criminal incident clearly proves in the eyes of the world that the Japanese imperialists are the sworn enemy of the Korean people and brutal man-killers who defy international law, ethics and morality. Citing facts to prove that the assassination of Empress Min was perpetrated by the Japanese imperialists under a premeditated scenario, pursuant to their policy of aggression towards Korea to all intents and purposes, the article goes on: Human butchers of the Japanese imperialists broke into the bedroom of Empress Min in the Royal Palace, the most sacred icon of a sovereign state, and savagely killed her, one of the representatives of the then state sovereignty of Korea. This was the most unpardonable illegal act against humanity in history and the most hideous crime against the Korean nation and its state as it was an organized brigandish infringement upon its sovereignty and dignity. More than a century has passed since the "Ulmi Incident". However, the Japanese reactionaries are foolish enough to try to keep the truth behind the incident buried into oblivion forever. With nothing can the Japanese imperialists hide the criminal assassination of Empress Min. The desperate efforts on the part of Japan to distort the blood-stained history of Korean aggression and evade the responsibility for the crimes committed in the past would only touch off bitterer hatred for Japan among the Korean people. Japan would be well advised to properly understand the Korean people's bitterness towards Japan and their spirit of national independence. They will certainly force Japan to pay for the past crimes it committed against the Korean nation century after century. |
