Signal Achievements Registered in Literature and Art of Juche
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Phenomenal achievements have been made in the fields of film, drama and opera of the DPRK, demonstrating the might of the developing literature and art of Juche.

The feature film "The Country I Saw" (Parts 2 and 3) was produced in a peculiar Korean way in its ideological content, artistic quality and creative method and style.

The film gives an answer to a fundamental question arising in shaping the destiny of a nation by showing through a high artistic depiction that the dignity and might of a country and a nation are guaranteed by the unexcelled courage and pluck of the leader representing the sovereignty of the nation, not by the size of territory and population, and that the spirit of independence is precisely victory.

The feature film "White Birch of Paektu" is based on a real story about a girl who, after graduating from Kim Il Sung University, volunteers for a lecturer in a revolutionary battle site in the area of Mt. Paektu far from Pyongyang and devotes herself to glorifying the priceless revolutionary traditions of the Workers' Party of Korea. The film is conducive to arming all the soldiers and people with the spirit of devotedly defending the leader.

The feature film "Shipwreck" depicts on a vivid artistic canvas the fact that the imperialists' plot is doomed to shipwreck by the struggle of the Korean people to firmly protect the socialist system. It made a contribution to adding luster to the heyday of the Juche-oriented film art.

The State Theatrical Troupe recreated the drama "A Sentry under a Neon Lamp" as a masterpiece with the high ideological content, cognitive and educative effect and artistic skill, which had been created and performed in China in the early period of the 1960s.

The famous classical novel of China "The Dream of the Red Chamber" had been adapted for an opera and performed in the 1960s. The Phibada Opera Troupe successfully recreated the opera by polishing all the factors of depiction on a high artistic level and preserving its original content.

The music skit "My Dear One Has Become Hero" created by the Kangwon Provincial Art Troupe vividly depicts the struggle of women in Kumgang village who turned out to assist the front during the past Fatherland Liberation War.

The art pieces give a great encouragement to the soldiers and people of Korea.
