The statement said that the DFRK founding proposal is the most aboveboard and reasonable reunification proposal as it contends that Korea should be reunified by founding a Federal Republic through the establishment of a unified national government on the condition that the north and the south recognize and tolerate each other's ideas and social systems, a government in which the two sides are represented on an equal footing and under which they exercise regional autonomy with equal rights and duties. This proposal aroused positive support from among the world peace-loving people as soon as it was announced, it noted.

It stressed that the October 4 declaration is a peaceful declaration for ending the military hostile relations between the north and the south and ensuring detente and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

All the forces in the world who truly want peace and democratic development in the peninsula should fully support inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation, it said, expressing belief that the Korean people would build a reunified thriving nation in the near future.
