The statement said that over the past 60 odd years since its foundation the WPK has covered only the road of victory and glory under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Il, who started his work at the Central Committee of the WPK 45 years ago, has strengthened and developed the WPK into the revolutionary party of Juche type and the party of Kim Il Sung, it noted, and said:

The WPK has been further strengthened into the general staff of the Songun revolution under his energetic and meticulous guidance.

It is thanks to his wise guidance that the DPRK is now winning one victory after another and dynamically advancing toward the high eminence of a thriving nation, always demonstrating the might of Songun without hesitation and vacillation despite the complicated international situation.
