The statement said that the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration provided the Korean people with a great programme for achieving independent and peaceful reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself" and the adoption of the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the joint declaration.

The prospect of Korea's reunification depends on the sincere implementation of the October 4 declaration, the statement noted.

It stressed that the proposal for founding the DFRK put forward by President Kim Il Sung is the most reasonable one for reunification as it makes it possible for the Korean nation to achieve the reunification of the country by its own efforts free from interference of foreign forces.

The statement expressed full support and solidarity to the Korean people in the struggle to achieve the peaceful reunification of the country by their own efforts in the idea of "By our nation itself".
