The work, published on Sept. 5, Juche 97 (2008), clarifies the idea that the 60 years long history of the DPRK is the great history of struggle and victory, the creation and change in which the Koreans defended independence and honor of the country and built a rich and prosperous socialist country standing the tempests of the revolution under the leadership of the great leader and party.

It also expounds the idea that even a small and backward country can become a developed and prestigious power when it is led by great leader and party.

The work also indicates the task and ways for accomplishing to the last the revolutionary cause of Juche under the banner of the Juche idea, the banner of Songun.
