WPK Birthday Celebrated in Different Countries
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Nepal, Finland and Peru from Oct. 6 to 8 to celebrate the 64th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Speeches were made at the meetings.

C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), said that President Kim Il Sung, the great sun, founded the WPK and led the Korean revolution to victory, thus performing great exploits for the Korean revolution and the world revolution.

Noting that General Secretary Kim Jong Il has victoriously led the Korean revolution with his unique Songun politics, frustrating all the moves of the imperialists and reactionaries, he expressed belief that the WPK and the Korean people would surely open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012, the centenary of birth of the President.

The minister of Land Reform and Management of the government of Nepal said that the WPK is a great party that set an example to be followed by the world by performing great exploits in the van of the struggle for accomplishing the anti-imperialist cause and the cause of socialism for a long period from the very day of its founding. Many other political parties and people are learning a lot from the exploits and experience of the WPK, he added.

Antti Sika-Aho, chairman of the Finland-Korea Society, noted that the WPK has victoriously advanced socialist construction, adhering to the idea of the President and ensuring the unitary leadership and has grown strong to be the most powerful party in the world.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings.
