Korean People's Cause of National Reunification Supported in Pakistan

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Punjab Provincial Committee of the National Workers' Party of Pakistan, the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization, the Peasants Committee and the Trade Union Federation of Pakistan, the Lahore Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association and the Pakistan Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification issued a joint statement on Oct. 8 in support of the Korean people's cause of national reunification.

The statement noted that the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo and the 10-point programme for the great unity of the whole nation clarified by President Kim Il Sung are commanding unanimous support from all the Korean people and the world peace-loving people as they are the most realistic and reasonable proposals for achieving national reunification.

The statement extended full support to the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the leadership of Kim Jong Il and demanded the U.S. withdraw at once its WMDs including nuclear weapons and its forces from south Korea, replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace accord and stop interfering in the internal affairs of the DPRK.
