Closer Cultural Cooperation between China and DPRK Called for
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Sino-DPRK friendship is unbreakable as it stood all tests of history, said Wan Jiyuan, vice-general manager of the Center for Art Exhibition with Foreign Countries of Ministry of Culture in China who visited the DPRK.

Recalling that President Kim Il Sung together with revolutionaries of the elder generation of China including Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai provided the friendly relations between the two countries, he referred to the fact that these relations have developed more favorably under the deep care of President Hu Jintao and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The cultural exchange conducted between the two countries this year has injected fresh energy into the development of the Sino-DPRK friendly relations, he noted, adding: The cultural exchange between the two countries has gained in width and depth over the last six decades since the establishment of the Sino-DPRK diplomatic ties.

This year, "the year of Sino-DPRK friendship", Kim Jong Il made sure that the Opera "The Dream of the Red Chamber" and Drama "A Sentry under a Neon Lamp" were recreated and staged.

The above-said opera and drama could be successfully recreated thanks to Kim Jong Il who sets store by the development of the bilateral friendly relations.

While watching the Opera "The Dream of the Red Chamber" we were deeply impressed by the outstanding artistic gift and extraordinary wisdom of the peerlessly great man and the Korean people's friendly feelings towards the Chinese people and talents of the performers.

The cultural cooperation between the two countries will become more brisk.
