DPRK Important Days Marked in Different Countries

Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Meetings and lectures were held in Bulgaria, Myanmar, Russia, Guinea, Democratic Congo and Indonesia to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea and seminars in Pakistan, Mexico, Russia, Uganda, Belarus and Moldova to commemorate the 64th birthday of the WPK and the 83rd anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) from October 1 to 9. Displayed in the venues of the meetings were works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and photos introducing their feats. Atanas Ivanov, honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union, said in his speech made at a meeting that the President formed the DIU on October 17, 1926, providing the historic roots of the WPK and founding the WPK on October 10, 1945. A member of the Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan People's Party, who is secretary for Information of the Punjab Provincial Committee of the party, noted at a seminar that the WPK has demonstrated its invincible might thanks to the outstanding and tested leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Juan Campos Vega, chairman of the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea, stressed that the feats performed by Kim Jong Il in the party building would shine forever. The first secretary of the Nakhodka City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in a lecture said that Kim Jong Il has turned the DPRK into a great country having powerful nuclear deterrent by enforcing Songun politics. He wished the Korean people greater success in the building of a thriving nation under the leadership of the WPK. Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings held in Bulgaria. |
