The work, published on Sept. 5, Juche 97 (2008), stresses that the 60 year-long history of the DPRK is one of great struggle and victory and great creation and change in which it defended the independence and honor of the country and built a rich and powerful, prosperous socialist country, going through the tempest of the revolution under the leadership of the great leader and party.

It clarifies the idea that even a small and backward country can be turned into a developed and prestigious power when it is guided by great leader and party.

Also expounded in the work are the task and ways for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche under the banner of the Juche idea, the banner of Songun.
