Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- New kinds of fiber goods for medical treatment have been developed and widely used in the DPRK. Among them are an artificial blood vessel, an artificial cross-typed knee joint ligament, a knitted insulator for prosopalgia treatment and pressure bandage for joint researched by the Textile Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences. The artificial blood vessel is used to replace the blood vessel damaged by blood vessel diseases such as atherosclerosis obliterans and thromboangiitis. It has features of flexibility, proper foraminiferal and three-dimensional porosity, which creates good conditions for the formation of the intima and adventitia of the vessel after operation. The artificial cross-typed knee joint ligament, strong in intensity, promotes cell proliferation and shortens treatment and recovery time. The knitted insulator for prosopalgia treatment is excellent in all indices of prosopalgia treatment and has a high remedial value. The goods have neither toxicity nor side-effects and never decay in the body. In the recent years they have proved efficacious in the treatment. Doctors of the cerebral nerve system told KCNA that they were one more innovation in the field. These goods made with domestic raw materials are highly appreciated by doctors of Kim Man Yu Hospital, Pyongyang University of Medicine Teaching Hospital and other hospitals and experts in the field of public health. |
